Firewall Builder 3.0 adds support for IPv6 for iptables, PF and Cisco IOS access lists. Its new GUI is based on QT4 and has been improved in ways that make it suitable for use on laptops. Availability

Firewall Builder comes with all versions of Ubuntu and Debian (in Universe). It is also available in "extra" in Fedora Linux and in ports for FreeBSD and OpenBSD. Packages for these OS are supported by corresponding maintainers. We build development binary packages for all these OS and distributions as well. Binary packages are available for Windows XP and Vista and Mac OS X

Most notable changes in this release:
  • Fixed security issue with temporary file handling in the generated iptables script. The problem only affects Linux systems where Firewall Builder is used to generate static routing configuration. The problem exists in Firewall Builder versions 3.0.4, 3.0.5, 3.0.6
  • Improved performance of the batch compile operation
