The doDownload.com constantly monitors the update of all programs, including information from the Free Hotel Software 2007 changelog file, however sometimes it can happen that data are not complete or are outdated.We assume that author continue's to develop 2007 version with further advanced features, and soon you will be informed. Equally important 2008 upgrades of the program we will continue to monitor. "- the first impression is a good one, but then:
- no integrated online-help for a very complex and unintuitive program
- the web-help for the same version number is not matching the freeware-version
- this version is obviously buggy:
most bills and reports print amounts on the right side with 2 additional digits, for instance 123,45 is printed as 12345,00.
This does not happen if the print of digits after the comma is suppressed.
- Same problem with the input of "other charges": after update 2 additional digits appear.
- 24-hour display in time fields is not supported, am oder pm is not displayed. Very confusing.
- standard checkin-checkout times are not supported (usually 12:00 check-in and check-out-time)
- automatic discounts on daily base are not supported. We give a discount at the daily room rate if the guest stays longer than a week or month.
- Only discounted periods, i.e for a whole week etc. are supported. The guest cannot checkout within this period - extremely far from the reality.
- these periodic rates are not recomputed on daily base: guest can only book (and extend) in multiples of this period...
- this program is far from intuitive usage. Many features appear too complicated and not practical.
- the list view in the configuration module shows rooms black on black, they only appear when highlighted!
- the property information will never change. Always showing "ASI Frontdesk". On printouts the property name appears properly.
- unflexible handling: a previously forgotten checkin or reservation cannot be redone for previous days.
- questionable logic: deposits payed during checkin are properly deducted from the total, but on checkout the program asks if if the deposit should be returned to the guest?
- another bug: if non-standard room sizes are used and the program is quit in "today´s view" after restart an error message appears. "today´s view" is reduced in size making it useless. No workaround but reinstall and avoid change of room icon sizes.
- the continuous request to save changes even if nothing was changed appears extremely nasty and time consuming. Even the reconfirmation that the update was done must be reconfirmed. In praxi this is a killer feature.
- after one day the program tries continuously and repetitive to reinstall resources from a source which cannot be found. After cancelling this function several times the program continues.
This is the ultimate killer and makes this version absolutely unsuitable for real time operation."
