cPicture 2.6

cPicture is a modern Software for digital pictures and respects the following security aspects:

1. Virus protection
cPicture has a built-in protection to protect the addition of any executable program code.
Any change by a virus program will be confirmed by a security dialog and the execution of cPicture halted.

2. Internet access
cPicture makes no connections to the Internet.

3. Registry
No data/keys will be added, deleted or modified by the cPicture program code.

4. created files
(all following text files are in the UTF-8 format and will be stored in the folder "%APPDATA%cPicture")
* cPicture.xml, configuration file containing all settings
* cPicture.txt, external picture comments
* Errorlist.txt, picture check result
* cPicture_sb.txt, Search results
* cPicture_fa.txt, Favorites
* cPicture_se.txt, marked pictures
* cPicture_rn.txt, recently renamed pictures

Note: To completely remove cPicture from your Computer you need also delete the executable file cPicture.exe/cPicture_LE.exe.

5. File access
cPicture does not read any other files as the picture files in the selected picture folder. No files will be modified or deleted unintentionally.

6. Safety copy for modified pictures
A safety copy with the extension ".original" will be created (if not already existent) before any picture modification.
e.g. "Picture.jpg" will be stored as "Picture.jpg.original".
The function "Restore original" uses this safety copy.
Note: You can disable the creation of the safety copy in the settings (F9 - "Settings" - "[x] Save original before modification"). You need to confirm the disabling of this function in a confirmation dialog.
