Search results will be displayed within seconds and can be categorized by file type, date, size etc. Additionally, xfriend searches the internet, product catalogues, internet news (RSS-feeds), emails and other search services.

xfriend offers a P2P-like search in external shared folders of other xfriend users. Therefore, xfriend enables you to set up a client-server environment easily. At the moment xfriend supports more than 50 file types and their meta-information. For example, xfriend indexes jpeg, mp3, doc, xls, pdf, txt and other formats. xfriend is made on pure Java. It runs on any popular operating system such as Windows or Linux. You just need your webbrowser. Immediately after installation xfriend will be available as a web-service on your computer.
