4Pane is a multi-pane, detailed-list file manager for Linux. It is designed to be fully-featured without bloat, and aims for speed rather than visual effects. In addition to standard file manager things, it offers multiple undo and redo of most operations (including deletions), archive management including `virtual browsing` inside archives, multiple renaming/duplication of files, a terminal emulator and user-defined tools.
As you can see from the Screenshots its display is split into a left directory tree-view, and a right detailed-list view which by default shows both files and directories. There are normally two of these twin panes displayed (thus the name) but this, and almost everything else, can be configured to suit your needs.
It has been built and tested on all the main Linux distros, using both current and older versions. Though it has a gtk-style appearance, it`s not tied to any particular desktop.
