PLASMA (Parallel Linear Algebra Software for Multicore Archtectures) is a dense linear algebra package at the forefront of multicore computing. PLASMA is designed to deliver the highest possible performance from a system with multiple sockets of multicore processors. PLASMA achieves this objective by combining state-of-the-art solutions in parallel algorithms, scheduling and software engineering. Currently, PLASMA offers an array of routines for solving linear systems of equations and least square problems, and progress is being made on eigenvalue and singular value problems as well as multi-GPU acceleration.

History updates (Complete changelogs since the listing on this site)
- Fix bug with Fujitsu compiler reported on the forum
- Unbind threads in PLASMA_Finalize to avoid problem of binding in OpenMP section following PLASMA calls (still possible on Mac and AIX without hwloc). A better fix is to create the OpenMP thread in the user code before any call to PLASMA thanks to a fake parallel section.

Predicted future versions and notices:
The doDownload.com constantly monitors the update of all programs, including information from the PLASMA 2.4.1 changelog file, however sometimes it can happen that data are not complete or are outdated. We assume that author continue's to develop 2.5.0 version with further advanced features, and soon you will be informed. Equally important 3.0.0 upgrades of the program we will continue to monitor.
